We are excited to announce the Accelerated Arms Youth Velo & Performance Program brought to you by Top Tier South is now accepting enrollment for the 24/25 season. Each year we take what we learned from the previous years, along with new information, and adapt a safety first program throughout a 22 week period to help enhance pitchers' movements, velocity and overall performance.
This year we encompass an on ramping phase in November (Phase 1) to properly build arm strength and conditioning. This onramping will include an introduction to our plyo routine, med ball routine, and water ball concepts. We will also focus on developing mobility in the body parts that help to increase force production while moving down the mound. Emphasizing strength in force production areas will also be a focus in Phase 1.
A testing day using Rapsodo technology will happen early in December (Phase 2). This testing will allow us to measure the initial velocity of the participants. The data will be used to measure velocity growth as our over and under load program will be the main focus during Phase 2 aiming to create as much explosiveness as we can out of each athlete. We will also spend more time on the mound to clean up individual deficiencies in each participant's delivery. The goal of Phase 2 will be to increase participants' velocity.
In January (Phase 3), we will continue to put a heavy focus on our over and under load program aiming to create as much explosiveness as we can out of each athlete. We will continue to use the Rapsodo unit to have a data driven assessment/evaluation system during this phase of the Accelerated Arms Youth Velo & Performance Program. We will retest each athlete to measure gains throughout the program.
Following our second velocity phase, in February (Phase 4) we will now focus on the complete pitcher. We will focus on command of our pitches as well as developing our pitch arsenal. We will continue to use the Rapsodo unit to have a data driven assessment/evaluation system during the last phase of the Accelerated Arms Youth Velo & Performance Program. We will retest each athlete to measure gains throughout the program.
Finally we will end the Accelerated Arms Youth Velo & Performance Program with small group (4 pitchers per time slot) bullpen sessions during the month of March (Phase 5). Here the athletes will continue to hone in their skills learned in the first 4 phases as they prepare for their upcoming Spring season starting in April.

Who will be instructing:
Wes Anderson will be running the Accelerated Arms Youth Velo & Performance Program.
Coach Anderson has a vast amount of experience training pitchers from youth baseball all the way up to the MLB level players.
He served as the pitching coach for the Joliet Slammers of the Frontier League, an MLB Partner League, for three seasons. In his time there he took a league worst pitching staff and transformed it into one of the top staffs in the league. This was achieved while also helping 10 pitchers' contracts, most in the Frontier League, get purchased by MLB organizations.
He currently is the Pitching Development Coordinator for Joliet Junior College.
Coach Anderson also serves as the pitching coordinator for Minooka Community High School. In his five seasons in this role, 30 of his pitchers have moved on to pitch at the collegiate level.
Coach Anderson also is the pitching coordinator for Top Tier South.
He is Driveline Foundations of Pitching and Basics of Pitch Design certified, Florida Baseball Ranch Savage Pitching Coach certified as well as being Rapsodo Baseball Pitching certified.
Also helping with the Accelerated Arms Youth Velo & Performance Program this year will be Coach Joey Fredrickson. He has built a distinguished career in pitching, both as an athlete and a coach. As a player, Joey made his mark at both the Junior College and Division I levels. At Black Hawk Community College, he was instrumental in securing a sectional championship and achieving a third-place finish at Regionals in 2015. He earned the Arrowhead Conference Pitcher of the Year award in 2016 and received the Academic All-Conference Award as a sophomore.
His collegiate career continued at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), where he made 26 appearances from 2018 to 2019. Joey excelled both as a relief pitcher and a weekend starter.
As a pitching coach, Coach Joey has successfully guided athletes to the collegiate level. His former players now compete at institutions such as Loras College (DIII), Heartland College (DI JUCO), Creighton University (DI), and Wabash Valley Community College (DI JUCO).
We are also very excited to announce that Ricky Castro will be assisting in coaching the players during the first two phases. Ricky pitched at Tulane and Perdue. He currently is a minor league pitcher for the Minnesota Twins.
